George Eastman is thrown into the proletariat work life, working for his wealthy uncle’s family business.  He is anticipated to figure everything out about the business. During that time, he encounters Alice Tripp, plain and loyal girl. When Eastman has finally worked his way to the top, he meets the beautiful and educated Angela Vickers and quickly neglects Alice. There is one problem standing in the way of Eastman’s happiness, for Alice has some news about their affair that Eastman may not be happy with.
