The story line revolves around a man unhappy with the direction his life is heading.  He had an un-happy childhood and has a wife, but feels he will never be able to please her.  He threatens suicide by standing on a ledge of a high-rise building for a total of fourteen hours .  The plot is based around a policeman doing everything in his power to convince this man that suicide is not the answer.  A variety of people try to help convince him not to jump, until a boy on the street accidentally shines a spotlight on the man on the ledge and he falls from the building but is saved by a net the police have set up and the film ends with him walking on the street hand in hand with his wife and son.
