'Doc' Riedenschneider is a well-known and intelligent convict who has just been released from prison. Immediately he has his mind set on a great idea for a million-dollar sting. To make his plan work, he enlists the help of safe cracker Louis, driver Gus, financial backer Emmerich, and the strength of Dix Handley. In the beginning, the plan goes smoothly, but then small mistakes start to build up. Each person causes the plan to start failing, not being right for the job.
