Shawn O'Hara is a horse trainer who travels to America with his pretty niece, Margaret to depart from the tragic death of Margaret’s brother Danny. Shawn grows fond of a 1-year old horse named Seabiscuit after working with him in Kentucky. He has to work hard on persuading the horse’s owner that the little horse with turn out to be a leading racehorse. On the other hand Margaret starts a provisional relationship with jockey Ted Knowles, but is terrified when the memory of her brother’s death in a horse obstacle surfaces.
