A struggling gold mine in Arizona all of the sudden turns to making a legit amount of money. The owner of the gold mine is not happy at all about the change and confides in Charlie Chan that someone is out to kill him. Charlie heads over to the mine as a tourist and stays a ranch nearby so no speculation is made. He realizes that the owner is correct on his assumptions. It seems like his mine is being used to hide illegal activities and there is someone out to kill him.
