A struggling gold mine in Arizona all of a sudden turns to making a large amount of money. The owner of the gold mine is not happy at all about the change and confides in Charlie Chan that someone is out to kill him. Charlie heads over to the mine as a tourist and stays at a ranch nearby so no speculation is made. He realizes that the owner is correct in his assumptions. It seems like his mine is being used to hide illegal activities and there is someone out to kill him.
