Lutie Cameron from St. Louis is preparing to be married to Col. James B. Brewton, a New Mexico cattleman after only knowing him a little while. To her surprise, she finds out that the residents of Salt Fork, New Mexico think her husband is a bully who can be malicious when keeping homesteaders off the Sea of Grass . Lutie has a hard time with this new discovery.
