An Episcopal Bishop, Henry Brougham, has been working for a while on the arrangements for constructing a sophisticated new church. He has high hopes a rich, cantankerous widow will provide the payment. With all his hard work, he is forgetting about his family and why he became a bishop. An angel by the name of Dudley is sent from heaven to assist Henry. Dudley helps everyone he encounters, but not in the way they had hoped for. Everyone loves Dudley, but Henry starts to feel that Dudley is there to take his place in everything. With Christmas around the corner, he stresses over the new guy.
