After spending four years in the army and dreaming about Brooklyn and how nice it is, Danny travels there to discover is not all it seems to be. He finds a place to stay with the janitor of the high school he attended by the name of Nick and starts working a music store as a singer. He encounters a brilliant pianist named Leo and his teacher Anne, who aspires to be an opera singer. Then Danny’s friend Jamie arrives from England, where Jamie wants Danny to see Brooklyn lifestyle in order for him to compose swing music with him. All four work together to assist Leo win the Brooklyn Music scholarship.
