This film is set in Ireland during 1944. Bridie Quilty is an ambitious woman who thinks all Englishmen are worthless. She wants to join the IRA, but finds no luck with that. A German spy enlists her and she is working at a bar close by a British military prison, using her good looks to catch the enemy. She becomes entangled with a British officer who has fallen for her, which leads to complications.
