Aubrey Piper works as a clerk who has a habit of playing himself up to impress people. One of his exaggerated stories of him visiting China catches the attention of pretty Amy Fisher. However, her family is not so impressed with him after he nearly burns down their home. Amy is still interested in him and accepts his marriage proposal. They soon face financial problems after Aubrey’s show-off behavior.
