Corliss Archer and Mildred Pringle are best friends who get into come trouble, which results in their parents blaming one another over who is starting the trouble. The fight does not settle with Mildred and Lenny, Corliss’ brother, who run away to get married, since he is home from the Army. The couple does not want anyone knowing except Corliss, for they do not want their marriage to end. When Corliss finds out that Mildred is pregnant, she goes to the doctor with her for support, but is seen by Mrs. Pringle. She immediately assumes that Corliss is pregnant and informs her parents about it. When they come to her with the news, Corliss tells them that her boyfriend Dexter and she are married to give Mildred time. Corliss is put on the spot when her uncle, a navy captain appears and proposes for them to get married at the home.
