Sir Simon of Canterville ran away from a challenge in the 1600's to a family castle to find consolation. His humiliated father locks him in the room where he is hiding, where he remains forever as a ghost, until one of his family members does something honorable. Hundreds of years pass by and it is now 1943, where Simon encounters Cuffy Williams, his American relative based with a unit at the castle. He believes Williams will be the one to set him free.
