Anne Hilton is left to deal with a lot of problems in her home, while her husband Tim fights during World War II. She decides to take a tenant, Colonel Smollett in to ease her money problems. The Colonel’s grandson and her daughter Jane start a love affair and this stresses Anne even more with the way they are handling it.
