Hoppy arrives in town after Johnny requests his help in finding who is rustling cattle that is nowhere to be found. Dan Slack is the man Hoppy becomes suspicious over and locks up the operator Lafe after his telegram about Slack is deflected. Through Lafe, he discovers the secret entrance to a mine where the missing cattle are. Just as Hoppy releases the cattle, Slack’s men find him.
