Hoppy is wrongly implicated in the affairs of a young friend, Tim Mason, who is allegedly killed while attempting to escape from jail. In truth Mason was murdered by corrupt deputy Martin to cover for a band of gun runners. Hoppy pretends to leave the Texas Rangers in disgrace and join the outlaws; however it’s all part of his plan to uncover the truth.
