Tom Barton is suspected of shooting a night watchman after the man points the finger at him. Gilbert finds a man named Sullivan who is Barton’s alibi the night of the murder. Gilbert helps Barton clear his name, but Sullivan becomes suspicious after he goes to the bank to cash a check from Gilbert. Gilbert’s father, Judge Phalen goes against his son, which leads Gilbert to become the main suspect after his father is murdered.
