After being separated for twenty years, a vaudeville performer decides to reunite with her son.  Finding him as a student at Midwick College , she at first observes him from afar but eventually meets him face to face.  So taken with her son after being away from him for so long, the vaudevillian decides to buy a café for her son, which he and his friends in turn make over into a successful dinner theatre.
