Don Stuart is a ranger who finds proof of arson with his boss Tana 'Butch' Mason. He believes Twig Dawson is responsible for the fire, yet does not have evidence on him. Butch is in love with Don, yet he is too oblivious to see her for what she is. He encounters socialite Celia and immediately marries her.
