Winnie Slade purchases an old historic home from the crazy Professor Billings in order to transform it into a hotel. She is a young divorcee and allows the professor and his housekeeper to live in the house. Little does she know that the Professor is experimenting with traveling salesmen, which explains all the bodies in the cellar. Even her neighbors are strange.
