Duke Berne has been to prison three times and jeopardizes life in prison when he plans to steal another car. His attorney's wife Lorna used to be Berne's girlfriend and she holds him back from the robbery. He ends up in jail though and they find each other again after he escapes from prison. Their love is put on hold, for if they remain together, his old pal George will end up in jail for killing a prison guard, when he did not.
