All who are at fault are taken to jail, and huge crowds are taken by Gene's singing, and Pa McCracken knows immediately that he must add Gene to the World-Wide show. When he hires Gene, sales go up immediately, which aggravates Johnson. Johnson offers Gene $10,000 per week to leave the show and go to his, but Gene disregards the offer.
