Arthur Blake becomes Sir Arthur Blake and is left with land from his brother. His orphaned nephew, Benjamin, works for him as a restrained servant, for he feels he was born out of wedlock and has no right to the inheritance. Benjamin has had enough and travels overseas to make a lot of money in order to claim the inheritance.
