Two Army friends return to civilian life after World War II, getting jobs as a police officer and a newspaper reporter.  The reporter ends up in the middle of a blackmail scheme between his publisher and a local crime boss, who is using the publisher’s past relationship with a burlesque star as leverage.  When the burlesque star turns up dead, the reporter and his policeman friend must uncover the truth behind the murder before an innocent man goes to prison.
