John Carteret is a lonesome and depressed man, for his soon to be wife Moonyean was killed at their wedding a while back. Kathleen ends up falling in love with Kenneth Wayne, whose father Jeremy was the one who killed Moonyean. John despises Kenneth for this, but comes to terms with it.
