Henry Lorimen (Jack M. Holmes) and his daughter Perry (Marjorie Reynolds) run the H&L Lumber Company, who has just received it's most profitable order from the government. Around this time, Easterner John Gordon (Hal Brazeal) hires onto the company as a lumberjack. Soon after, a series of mysterious 'accidents' plague the company, and Lorimen dies in a forest fire. Despite opposition from camp manager Barnes (Earle Eby), Perry decides to take control of the company herself and finish the government job. It appears Barnes is behind the sabotage, and plots to blow up a storehouse filled with dynamite and blame it on Gordon. However, Perry overhears his plan and tries to stop them, but Barnes knocks her unconscious and puts her in the cab of a runaway train. Gordon can't save both the storehouse and Perry, so Gordon boards the train and starts a desperate race to get the train ahead of the explosion, before it kills them both.
