Gene Autry and his partner in crime Frog Millhouse leave Madison Square Garden in New York City and travel back home in their car, along with Champion in a horse trailer. They meet up with Ronnie Willoughby, a young boy who has just arrived from England. He takes a ride with them assuming they were ordered by his father to meet him. What Ronnie does not know is that his father, Alfred Willoughby is a prisoner in San Quentin for a set up against him by the supervisors of a packing company. Ronnie thought all along his father was a big time rancher in the west. The packing company supervisors do not want Alfred declaring against them, so they have planned to abduct Ronnie.
