This film is set in a quaint black town in Oklahoma, where the Wilsons reside. They have a pretty daughter named Margaret who is being courted by two completely different men. One is named Buster who is not the smoothest guy and the other is charming Prince Alihabad. Alihabad plans to elope with Margaret, so Mr. Wilson shows him his valuables, but his house ends up being robbed, which leads to his murder. The police and correspondence-school detective Junior Lingley are determined to find the killer, but who will find him first?
