An engaged playboy and a beautiful woman have a chance meeting aboard a luxury liner and fall in love with each other. Hoping to prove to one another that this isn't just a passing romance the two agree to meet at the top of the Empire State Building, displaying their true love. A terrible accident prevents the woman from meeting the playboy. A chance of fate eventually brings the two together. This film has been remade several times, most famously by McCarey himself as, “An Affair to Remember”.
