A savvy book salesman convinces Blondie Bumstead to purchase a group of books on child training since he has made her believe that Baby Dumplin is a child intellect. On the other side, J.C. Dithers, boss of Dagwood Bumstead, is furious with Dagwood for changing the plans on an apartment complex the construction establishment was working on for Abner Cartwright. To maintain his job, Dagwood must convince Cartwright to sign the papers regarding the changes. He disregards the contract. Baby Dumpling starts school and problems arise from there
