The dying criminal Barton requests Gene to be the protector of his three boys. The three rowdy boys arrive from Chicago and head over to the Barton ranch where they soon discover Welch's illegal pirate operation right in the ranch. Welch thinks the boys will be a big help to him so he takes over them and kicks Autry to the curb. Gene reacts by bringing three other boys and bringing them in front of the judge who pronounces them as the real Bartons.
