Gene is left as the executor of Langham’s will and his daughter Cody is left with his ranch. Cummings attempts to murder Gene when he disapproves of Cody’s engagement with him. Cummings not satisfied with all of this wants money, so Cody orchestrates a false kidnapping to get money. Her hoax fails when Cummings discovers the deception and turns the table on her by really kidnapping her.
