A crooked nightclub owner targets lottery winners by swindling their winnings from them and killing them to cover his tracks.  When a newsboy’s grandfather becomes the latest victim of this plan, the newsboy partners with a reporter to get to the bottom of the story.  Complications arise when the newsboy’s sister gets work at the crook’s nightclub and he takes an interest in her.
