Tom Rayburn is the main suspect in the murder of Gelbert after he is found on the scene, even though Jess Brand is the real killer. He runs off to Doc Mathews who is Rayburn’s alibi, but Brand will do anything to stop Mathews from testifying. Mathews is a ventriloquist, which will help bring Brand down.
