Ronny Bowers is a saxophonist in Benny Goodman’s band and has just won a talent contest. The prize is a ten week contract with a film studio. The first night of his contract, he is sent to go with the big star of the studio, Mona Marshall, to a premiere, but she does not want to go. They hire Virginia to be her double. Mona is not happy with the news and orders the boss to fire Virginia and Ronny. Ronny is discovered again by a director of the same studio who feels his voice would be perfect for the lead actor in his musical. Ronny lends his voice, but after Louella Parsons hears the actor singing, she invites him to sing in her program "Hollywood Hotel". Little does the actor know that Ronny does not want to lend his voice again.
