Hearts Are Thumps is a 1937 MGM release of an Our Gang / Little Rascals comedy short directed by Gordon Douglas.

It’s Valentine’s Day, and Spanky and the gang are disgusted by all the ‘mush’ about romance.  To make their feelings totally clear they form the He-Man Woman Haters Club and all take a vow to steer clear of women!

Unfortunately, poor Alfalfa is smitten with the pretty Darla, and when she shows up his vow is forgotten.  Mooning over Darla, Alfalfa joins her in a lunch of a sandwich and a cream puff that she has brought to share.

Appalled by Alfalfa’s behavior, Spanky and the boys get even by exchanging the cheese in the sandwich and the cream in the cream puff with soap.  Under Darla’s watchful eye Alfalfa consumes every bite, and things seem to be okay until the teacher asks Alfalfa to sing as Darla plays the piano!
