To provide relief to an area stricken by drought, Hopalong agrees to sell the cattle at his Bar-20 ranch at a discount. All that needs to be done is to drive the cattle to the train station. However, a greedy rancher, ‘Tex’ Anderson (Morris Ankrum), wants to keep the prices high and decides to stop Hopalong by any means necessary. Tex and a group of his thugs hire on to Hopalong’s cattle drive under assumed names and do everything they can to make sure the drive fails. Can Hoppy discover Tex’s true nature and get the drive to the train station on time?
