Danny West, a songwriter, and Polly Blair, a fading movie star, are in love with each other. In a move to help Blair's career, West breaks up his partnership with lyricist Mike, who in turn finds romance with Blair's friend Mattie. In hopes of re-establishing his his partnership with West, Mike contrives to have a blonde seductress pretend to be his sweetheart, thus tearing West away from Blair. Everything works out in the end for all in this romantic comedy filled with musical numbers.
