Tim Ross is a former agent for the Justice Department who travels with the Doc Shaw medicine show as a sniper. He bumps into Tex Weaver, an old friend who is working as an undercover cop to capture a bank-robbing gang. Problems arise after Tex holds a coin for Tim to shoot out of his hand during a show, but another shot is fired at the same time, which kills Tex. Everyone believes Tim killed Tex, except for Tex’s girlfriend Goldie Harris. Goldie is convinced Tim didn’t commit the crime after picking up the coin Tex was holding. Tim returns to his old job, determined to find his late friend’s killer, Runniyon, a member of the gang. He pretends to be a Mexican caballero and teams up with Goldie to set things straight.
