Cowboy John Mason returns home from several seasons of running cattle. Upon returning home, John gets in a fight with Ben, who befriends John afterwards and introduces John to his girlfriend Alice. Talking for a while, John discovers that his dad, Dan, is also Ben's boss and the duo head over to Dan's office just in time to walk in on a robbery. In the course of the robbery, John is shot and Dan is killed.
Attracted to his nurse Alice, a conflict arises between him and his friend Ben who plans to marry Alice. John later finds the killer of his father but goes to face him not knowing Ben has removed the bullets from his gun.
Notes:
The Dawn Rider is a remake of Galloping Thru, filmed in 1931 starring Tom Tyler.
The Dawn Rider was remade again in 1938 as Western Trails.
