Stan and Ollie hide aboard to Scotland thinking they are going to acquire the MacLaurel estate. However Stan's estate approxiamtes to a group of bagpipes and a snuff box. The guys are foolishly tricked into signing up with the army and are appointed to India where the heiress to the MacLaurel estate has commuted to be closer to her supervisor. Her Scottish companion Allan also joins the army. The boys are supervised by the Sergeant (Finlayson) to imitate the army officers at the mansion of Mir Jutra and prevent a plan to kill the officers by destroying many beehives.
