Mary is a Park Avenue socialite who marries dignified English aristocrat, Lord Phillip Rexford, as an adventure. She is content for a while with her husband and child, yet later on she runs into her old lover, Tommie Treal, in the Riviera. She begins an affair with him and nothing she can say to her husband makes it better.
