Evelyn Prentice is married to a well-known and respected attorney who provides her with anything she needs, but his job consumes his time, leaving her feeling alone.  She starts to spend time with a poet who loves women and provides her with the attention she desires.  Evelyn is soon embroiled with extortion surrounding a murder he committed.  She runs to her husband for help when a woman is arrested for the murder.
