Eddie Ellison is former criminal who did time in Sing-Sing prison. Kay and Eddie get married as soon at his time is over. Five years later, Eddie and his former convict pal, Larry, have both straightened up their lives. Eddie and Kay even have a precious young girl named Shirley. Welch has studied the former convicts for years now and thinks they will always be criminals. Problems arise when the wife of Eddie’s employer's pearls disappear. The news comes out that both Eddie and Larry have done time in jail and they get dismissed from their jobs. Of course Welch believes that Eddie and Larry are connected with the disappearance of the pearls. Welch looks into the case to see if they had any connections with the pearls.
