This film centers on the lives of four sisters named Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy during the American Civil War, where their father is minister to the soldiers. Marmee takes care of the family, but they have a difficult time with money. Their friendly and rich neighbor, Mr. Laurence, and his energetic grandson Laurie help the family out.
