Stage-star Elise Manning goes through a night of romance, death, and blackmail, leaving her with serious problems with the corrupt Doctor Gruell. A woman dies in her apartment and Gurell suggests the death was murder in order to blackmail Elise. The film concludes with Elise, her fiancé and the dead-man's wife confronting each other in an emotional scene.
