Arthur and his friend Nutty break into a drugstore to get medicine for Nutty's grandmother, even though they already have problems with the law. The druggist's wife, Mrs. Doray requests to take care of Arthur with her husband played by Spencer Tracy. Arthur runs off when he hears the couple arguing over him, but when he returns, he finds criminals at the drugstore holding up Mr. Doray.
