Dr. Robert Cromwell is charged with malpractice and manslaughter after he performed a risky operation and his patient died. The jury doesn’t convict him of any crime, but the court of public opinion still finds him guilty. The medical board must decide whether or not to take his medical license. Before they make their decision, Cromwell decides to join his friend, World War I pilot Donald Evans on a flight to Alaska. Unfortunately they crash in Alaska, killing Evans. Fur trapper Tom Ross comes to Cromwel’s rescue. Klondike nurses him back to health. She was engaged to marry Armstrong's son Jim, but he is suffering from the same disease Cromwell’s patient had.
