Bill Whipple is a race car driver who dies from injuries in a car crash. He asks his mechanic, Bill Toomey to look after his handicapped son Buddy and carry on the race car tradition. Bill is in love with Peggy , the daughter an automobile manufacturer named Preston. She convinces him to join forces with Preston and drive his new car at anupcoming race. If Bill wins the race, he wins $5,000 and would use the money for Buddy’s operation which would allow him to walk. Unfortunately he is eliminated from the race and suspended for the rest of the season after a corrupt driver named Steve Macey locks wheels with Bill which causes a collision, leaving the blame on Bill. Bill finds another job driving a police radio car and is known to be the fastest driver on the force. He learns that Macey is working with Tom Carlis who is Preston’s corrupt business manager and is a member of a gambling ring. Bill brings the bad guys down and receives enough money for Buddy’s operation.
