Richard Barthelmess plays a veteran British pilot in France who has a risky job of making raids behind enemy lines. The men drink heavily in order to forget their problems in the war. Barthelmess and Hamilton are constantly fighting and at odds, but then Hamilton is promoted as Barthelmess gets his desired desk job.
