Elmer is a dry cleaner who is deeply in love with stage star Trilby Drew. She marries Elmer after her co-star boyfriend gets engaged to a socialite. Drew assumes Elmer is a millionaire since he’s always wearing fancy tuxedos when he sees her, but they are borrowed.  She’s still in love with her co-star and her manager makes her leave Elmer as he tries to pay off Elmer before their marriage is made public. Elmer is determined to win her back.
